During your first visit some questions about your main complaint, your general health and lifestyle will be asked to gain a thorough understanding of your condition. After that, following a TCM diagnosis, the right treatment approach will be selected and a treatment plan will be provided.

When talking about your main complaint, you will need to describe the symptoms and provide more details about its severity, how long you have been having the symptoms, whether they are constant or intermittent and how frequent they are. You should mention any medication that you are taking and whether you have tried any other therapies.
Pulse and Tongue
In order to have a better diagnosis according to TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory), your pulse and your tongue will be examined as these techniques provide more information about the patient's conditions. Areas of muscular tension or pain will also be palpated.
Treatment & Treatment plan
Treatment plan will be put together which will include acupuncture as well as lifestyle and dietary advice. Other Chinese medicine techniques may be offered depending on the patient's diagnosis.

- Moxibustion: heat is applied to an acupuncture point or meridian using moxa (a therapeutic herb) to increase blood flow, warm and relax the muscles.
